Mitern Farm - Breeder of the Parson Russell Terrier, Massachusetts, USA

Purchase Policy

We have changed our Purchase Policy as the times have changed. This is done for the “BEST INTEREST” of the puppy you are purchasing from us.

1. All deposits are non-refundable.
This is retained in consideration for “holding” your chosen puppy, in good faith.
There is a $250 minimum. If a personal life-changing event suddenly prevents you from taking the puppy, then we are willing to credit the amount of deposit towards our next available litter only. All returned checks will cancel your puppy sale within 5 days of our receipt of bank notice, unless you contact us immediately. Errors do occur, so please let us know. Returned check fee: $25. The balance due is to be paid in cash at the time of scheduled pick-up date.

2. Guarantee
All pups are sold with a written contract that clearly explains the terms of our guarantee. This sales contract is not intended to be any means of control; rather, it serves to protect the health and welfare of the dog that we are selling into a long-term relationship. It is the best way for both of us to establish expectations and responsibilities.

3. Shipping.
We will ship anywhere, weather permitting. However, we no longer allow a pup to make a long plane-changing flight without a human escort. What does this mean? If we cannot locate a “direct flight”, then we require that the pup flies with a “human escort”. It can be you, the buyer, a relative, friend, or we will deliver at a small fee. All shipping expenses are the direct expenses involved and must be paid prior to us securing an exact shipping date.

4. Annual Photo
We ask for this as it is our way to check on what we have produced. We also like to see that the dog we sold you is living its life as a HOUSE PET, as we agreed. We do not sell any of our pups to live outside, unless of course you are also living outside with them.

5. Credit Card payments are thru PAYPAL. Use the link on “Contact Us” web page.

6. Returning a Dog
We all have some kind of crisis at some point in our lives. A dog can be caught up in the middle. We do understand and as long as you are truthful with us, we will gladly help you work thru it. We do this ONLY for dogs that are bred here. PLEASE do not ask us to take back your “sick dog”. It is not fair to your dog or our dogs. If this becomes necessary, email us at info@miternfarm.com, tell us about your situation, and inquire about our return policy, checklist, and releases.

7. Availability of Pups
We have decided to no longer sell show or breeding stock at this time. We will continue to grade and price a pup reasonably, but each will be sold with a spay / neuter contract. We retain all “Show / Breeding Quality” pups as long as necessary to monitor the quality of our breeding program. Your pup receives early stimulation training in our kitchen. Housebreaking will be started as we litter box train for your convenience. Our Average Price Range is: $650 - $1000 with a Neuter Agreement.
The pup will be allowed to go home via automobile between 8 and 10 weeks. Any pup flying will go home between 10 and 12 weeks.

If you wish to purchase a Show-Quality prospect from us: We can do this for you, but only with the condition that we will grow out that pup for 4-6 months of age. We charge $1500+ (along with holding co-ownership) until you finish or neuter the dog.

General Information

The difference between males and females are unique to this breed. When deciding on a FAMILY PET, please bear in mind who will be the primary caretaker/ trainer.
Often, a girl puppy will select someone in the house who is her “favorite”. A boy would rather be with mommy. Only you can decide which sex will fit into your household. Also, it will be up to you to be the “alpha” with your terrier. NEVER, EVER, LET THE DOG BE THE ALPHA!

As the breeders of your pup, we are always here to answer questions, suggest training methods to correct a problem, or make a referral if needed. This is one of the most important reasons why you should purchase your next companion/best friend from a responsible breeder.

It is our obligation to help you raise your dog into the social creature like the ones you’ve met in our home.
